Good wee vid, you may not agree with this guy’s information (if you think you know better) but good info for us normal people...... Who is the no sun-tanned dude in the back ground? He must be the apprentice....... Only kidding Carl, get back and fix ma bike!!

Other than the low speed compression damping in the wet (wet race = slower race hence more time pedalling) i dont understand his logic for set up. I honestly cant see how changing from flat to clips will change your weight balance front to rear, and I use both!

But why would a flat pedal rider hang of the back more? An Ex Lotus engineer explained suspension in the best terms to me and that was, springs control how far the suspension will compress, damping will control how fast it will compress (and return).

Yeah and as he had said in the video, more "slow speed" dampening meaning, it will compress slower, helping with the pedaling.

You hang of the back more on flats because most riders push their heels down a little bit more to stick to the pedals. When using clips your heels are up a little thus changes your weight distribution on the bike forward (remember 1mm of a difference will change how much weight is on the bars instead of the pedals/rear). You may ride in the same position using both methods; well done you are different :-)

I see this team is cutting back this year on riders and the expensive Intense bikes. I must admit though, the team last year was kind of large.
